Ambitious, talented, and smart are all but only a few words to describe Ashley Theresa Wardlow. Born on March 10, 1991 on the west-side of Chicago, Ashley has grown into quite the young lady. Born to Annette Johnson and Anthony Wardlow, Ashley was the middle child in between two boys. Her brother Anthony Wardlow always protected Ashley and still does. They have close relationship where they discuss anything with each other. Her younger brother Antonio Johnson always keeps Ashley laughing. Being the only girl, Ashley was a “spoiled brat”. However, as a child, Ashley was shy and very smart. Ashley taught herself to play the piano and read piano sheet music at the age of seven. Ashley began to read in the beginning of kindergarten. Ashley took a huge interest in science while in grade school. Ashley won science fairs, and spelling bees. Receiving numerous awards for outstanding academics, Ashley eventually was skipped from sixth to eighth grade. Graduating as Valedictorian one year early, Ashley continued her success at Lane Technical High school. At the age of thirteen, Ashley began to take interest in fashion and music. Using her grandmothers robe to cut into a dress and drawing out clothe designs was only the start. Ashley also began to write music to go along to piano sheet music she created. A big inspiration in Ashley’s life is Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson’s “They don’t really care about us” was the first of many Michael Jackson’s songs Ashley listened to and liked. After hearing Michael Jacksons’ “They don’t really care about us” Ashley began to take interest in politics and humanity. The desire to learn more about Michael Jackson, Ashley discovered another part of Michael Jackson, separate from the music and fame. Michael Jackson was a smart, caring, and loving human being who cared deeply for the earth and everyone and everything that resided on it. This inspired Ashley to take a closer look at herself. She wanted to be similar to Michael Jackson and help others. Ideas such as youth centers, shelters, school fundraisers and more were ideas that Ashley began to develop. However, these ideas were put on hold when Ashley left for the Military in March 2009. Ashley joined the Military as a Military Police Officer in hopes to become a Chicago Police Officer. Ashley successfully finished her training in August of 2009 and immediately started college at Chicago State University. Ashley wants to become a forensic scientist once she receives her masters in chemistry. Ashley aspires to be a “millionaire” with a variety of categories ranging from politics, law enforcement, social work, science, fashion, and music on her resume. “There is no limit to what a person can do” states Ashley. Ashley is a loving individual who places no limits on her abilities.
“If a woman had her body from the neck to feet covered in tattoos, but placed a business suit on every day, no one would know of her naked personality”
